This week in Brent’s Breakdown, Episode 17: A Great Secret to Powerful Presentations.
In value management and value-based conversations, we spend a great deal of time presenting very rational, data-driven, evidence-backed reports. As compelling as they are, however, I think we’d all agree, they can feel a little bone dry sometimes.
But what if we thought of value conversations less as a “report-out” and more as a story. What difference does that make?
It’s a good reminder that great stories—like great presentations—don’t just focus on what one wants the audience to know, but simultaneously what one wants the audience to feel. And through careful consideration not just of teaching points, but of “emotional points,” we’re in a far better position to connect deeply with our audience.
It’s a simple technique with a powerful impact.
